Meet the team

Dr. Lauckner's background is in neurobiology and behavior, with an emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases. She is passionate about merging her interests in science, science education, accessibility, and nature conservation.

Gabrielle is a cycling enthusiast and database aficionado who discovered her passion for databases after leaving a government research lab. She values open-source tools and attending conferences to fuel her continuous learning.

Craig got his start as a software tester in the not-so apocalyptic aftermath of the Y2K bug. Since then, he's had a long career in building web apps for a wide variety of organizations. He likes live music, craft beer, coffee, and boring tech that's reliable and does its job well.

Anna's research focuses on field and laboratory projects studying salmonid and forage fish ecology including habitat use, restoration, remediation, and monitoring. Anna especially enjoys working on projects with Tribal, State, Federal, and community partners throughout the Salish Sea.  Anna has extensive field experience aboard small boats with various fishing techniques.

Sonja is a versatile designer specializing in Visual and UX Design. She excels in managing diverse projects and creating engaging customer experiences. Sonja enjoys designing elegant solutions that meet user needs.

Erika graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Marine Biology and a minor in Quantitative Science. She discovered her passion for coding and data-driven problem-solving, leading her to a career in web development. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, puzzles, and workout classes.

Derya graduated the University of Washington with a degree in Oceanography. She's a regular contributor to Ocean Hack Week and a former data analytics boot camp instructor. Outside of work Derya enjoys painting and art walks. 

Donald graduated from Bentley University with a degree in Taxation. While working in tax, he became fascinated by how specialized applications can help professionals manage complex data, leading him to transition into software development. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and trying new foods.

David has built his career developing backend systems for digital agencies, music software companies, and enterprise manufacturing. He enjoys tackling complex technical problems and creating reliable infrastructure. Outside work, you'll find him hillwalking, baking, experimenting with kombucha, practicing origami, or travelling to experience new cultures with his family.

Alex is a full-stack developer specializing in Django and PostgreSQL, with hands-on experience building and maintaining scalable web applications. He brings a strong foundation in CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices, with practical experience deploying and managing applications on AWS and Heroku. Alex is focused on writing clean, reliable code and continuously improving system performance, automation, and delivery efficiency.

Annie is a UX/UI Designer with a background in Communication Design and education, bringing four years’ experience delivering engaging and accessible design solutions. They are driven by evidence‑based, inclusive design and enjoy solving creative problems to build intuitive digital products. Outside of work, Annie enjoys painting, music, and spending time out in nature.
